Clinical Consultation
Because Therapists Should Never Practice in Isolation
Being a therapist means that we are continually learning.
Being a therapist means that we are continually learning and growing, refining our skills, and working to become the best therapist that we can be. It is essential to our professional success that we avoid practicing in isolation and get support from other therapists.
Whether you are working with a specific client or clients and are feeling stuck or you are wanting to grow a new specialty area, it can be helpful to talk with another therapist who has walked the same path as you before.
Seeking consultation can be a bit nerve wracking as it means admitting that you don’t know it all. But that is okay - being a good therapist includes recognizing areas where you can grow and investing in new knowledge. After all, that is why we have a professional development requirement! Consultation can help ensure that you are making ethical decisions, practicing within your scope, and helping you stay confident in your skills as a therapist.
Clinical Consultation can help you:
Avoid practicing in isolation
Support ethical decision making
Build community with other therapists
Avoid burnout
Develop new skills and specialty areas

Interested in Individual Consultation?
If you are interested in consulting with me individually related to any of my specialty areas or on navigating a difficult client situation, I would be happy to meet with you to discuss your goals and how we might be a good fit to work together.
