Bringing evidence-based information to your community
Professional Presentations, Trainings, or Guest Speaking
In addition to being a therapist, I am an educator at heart. Having taught at the undergraduate and graduate levels, presented at international and national conferences, and in smaller group settings with community groups, I love having the opportunity to talk about mental and relational health. If you are seeking a professional presentation for your workplace, university course, or organization, please contact me so that we can create a plan for a presentation unique to your needs and audience. Presentations will typically include a PowerPoint, handouts/resources, interventions/applications, and time for questions.
Topics I have previously presented on and/or teach include:
Healthy Communication
Death and Dying
Grief and Loss
Intersections of Physical and Mental Health
Improving Friendship and Connection in Relationships
Adolescent and Young Adult Development
Infant and Childhood Development
Adult Development and Aging
Implicit Bias and Social Justice
Mental Health and Systemic Impacts (Gender, COVID-19)
Co-parenting and Blended Families
Healthy Parenting
In addition to presentations/training, I am also available as a guest speaker on your podcast or webinar. For a sample of prior guest speaking engagements, click on the links below.
Formal Programs
In addition to presenting on specific topics to your group or agency, I am able to provide evidence-based training or prevention programs in collaboration with your agency. These programs can be offered virtually, in a synchronous format, or on-site in your location. I am able to commute in the Denver and Fort Collins areas.
Within My Reach - Relationship Education Program
I am a PREP-certified facilitator for the Within My Reach program. This evidence-based program, which is designed to be implemented with individuals who may or may not be in a relationship, and focuses on developing useful skills to promote healthy relationships - whether that is in a romantic relationship, at work, with co-parents, etc. The curriculum focuses on safety in relationships, healthy communication, conflict management skills, affect regulation, commitment and expectations, and improving intimacy.

Prepare/Enrich Facilitator Training
As a Prepare/Enrich Trainer, I can offer the workshop to train professionals, such as therapists or religious leaders, to offer the Prepare/Enrich Relationship Assessment. This relationship assessment, which can be used for premarital couples or couples already married, is one of the most widely researched relationship assessment tools with over 40 years of research validating the measure. Additionally, the workshop provides facilitators with interventions and exercises to implement with couples after administering the assessment.
